Douglas Firs are medium size to extremely large evergreen trees grown in Western North America. The substrate typically has a rich colouring with the heartwood generally a dark tan red colour and the sapwood a lighter tan. The Sound Tight Knot grade processed by BrookClad to manufacture cladding has small tight live and frequent knots and is similar in appearance to sawfalling Siberian Larch and overtime when exposed to u.v. it will go an attractive silver- grey colour. Douglas Fir is one of the most useful and frequently used timbers across the globe as it is known for its strength and workability.

Our Douglas Fir cladding timbers can be pressure treated for added protection against fungal decay and insect attack.
